At JIMENA (Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa), we work to elevate the voices, heritage, and rights of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews. Through education, advocacy, cultural programming, and storytelling, we preserve history, amplify underrepresented narratives, and empower leaders to advance justice and inclusion in Jewish life and beyond.

Education & Engagement

Education is key to challenging bias and reshaping narratives. JIMENA reaches thousands of students annually through its K-12 programs to reintroduce and inform Sephardic and Mizrahi stories. We bring special Jewish education and in a deeper historical understanding.

Training & Research

We advance understanding of Sephardic and Mizrahi heritage through trainings, research programs, community leaders, and publications with organizations to integrate inclusive Jewish studies, strengthen knowledge sharing inclusive Jewish perspectives.

Advocacy

We are committed to justice, equity and inclusion in Jewish life and beyond. JIMENA's advocacy work includes support for Jews from MENA countries, earning recognition, restitution, and rights for displaced communities, and promoting wide, unique and impactable contributions.

Culture

Through cultural programming and community dialogues, we preserve the unique traditions, music, food, and art of Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews. We foster pride and belonging within diverse Jewish communities while inviting wider and voices to build more inclusive Jewish and cultural conversations.
